On Robot is on a journey to become the World Leading innovator and manufacturer of End of Arm Tools for collaborative applications under the theme Plug n´ Produce.  On Robot was founded in 2015 and shortly after introduced an innovative electric collaborative gripper and quickly established a global network of partners to support the growing market.

On Robot cooperates with the Hungarian company, OptoForce, within the collaborative space. The Director Sales will be responsible for all commercial activities in Northern Europe (Nordic and UK) for both companies.

The main office for On Robot is located in Odense, Denmark. The main office for OptoForce is in Budapest, Hungary.

To strengthen the Sales Organization, On Robot is looking for a Director Sales – Northern Europe with the responsibility of developing and implementing On Robot’s sales strategy in the region. The Director Sales will report to On Robot’s CCO and will be based out of Odense. 

Developing Sales on the Northern European market (Nordic and UK)
You will be part of a dynamic and ambitious company with a bold vision. You will also become part of a group of dedicated employees who are all focusing on expanding the sales of On Robot’s unique technologies with relevant distributors and dealers.

On Robot and OptoForce go to market with different types of grippers and a Force Torque (F/T) sensor. Each of the products individually opens various application opportunities – and the combined products open even more applications areas.

After initial learning, you will be responsible of developing sales to distributors and dealers on the Northern European market. On Robot will be represented on all the strategic markets in the robot and automation industry.

Based on the direct contact with distributors and dealers concerning customer inquiries and “cold leads”, your task will be to make the technical clarification with the dealers/customers and bring this feedback to the innovation and development resources. You will also be responsible for sales training and informing dealers on any key information concerning the company’s products and technologies.

You will initially be managing a team of two people. The team members are a Technical Support Engineer and a Sales and Marketing Support Assistant. The Technical Support Engineer is handling pre-sales, distributor training and problem identification in cases of technical issues with one of On Robot’s products. The other employee is an administrative Sales and Marketing Assistant, working with everything from order taking, securing correct communication and logistics, assisting in all kinds of sales and marketing activities and be the “always reachable” person in the office.

Main tasks

  • Growing On Robot’s and OptoForce’s business in Northern Europe
  • Establishing good relations to the local Robot Arm Manufacturer executives in the region
  • Understand, develop and implement application specific solutions together with our partners/distributors both in existing application areas and in new areas
  • Uncovering customer needs (primarily partners/dealers)
  • Sales, counselling and product training to existing and potential new clients (primarily partners/dealers)
  • Monitoring and analysing sales activities and goals
  • Defining and implementing strategies for participation in exhibitions and fairs
  • Providing feedback from customers to the innovation and development team

Professional profile: Technical interest and strong sales DNA
You have a relevant educational background from either engineering or business administration, supplemented with work experience in technical sales for a minimum of 5 years, where you can show a proven track record. You must have experience in channel sales and channel development, preferably within sales of products that automates production and/ or ease the product flow. Experience from robot technology will be a further advantage.

As the job will involve sales activities in the region, you must be able to travel 80-120 days per year, where the task will be to visit distributors and dealers, but also to attend exhibitions.

You speak English and preferably a Scandinavian language.

Additionally, the position urges the following personal qualities: You are challenge driven, result-oriented and possess a strong character as well as good communicative and executive skills. You possess a high level of discipline and persistency enabling you to negotiate and close deals and contracts. Furthermore, your cross-cultural skills should be very present in your daily work.
